What EdgeLocal is

EdgeLocal is a free directory of licensed home service contractors for all 50 US states. Every listing starts from a state contractor licensing registry — the same databases homeowners use to verify a license before hiring. We enrich each profile with publicly available data from Google Business Profiles: star ratings, review counts, phone numbers, and websites.

Unlike lead brokers that sell your contact information to the highest bidder, EdgeLocal connects homeowners directly with contractors. There are no lead fees, no auctions, and no upsells. Searching, comparing, and contacting contractors is free for homeowners, always.

Where the data comes from

• 1.State licensing registries. Contractor records are sourced from official state licensing databases. If a contractor holds an active state license, they are eligible to be listed.
• 2.Google Business Profile data. We pull Google Maps and Google Business Profile data — ratings, review counts, phone numbers, websites, and business categories — to make profiles more useful and current.
• 3.Contractor-verified updates. Any contractor can claim their free profile and update their own information: phone, address, business description, and service areas.

Coverage

Trades covered: 52 categories including roofing, siding, gutters, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, painting, concrete, landscaping, and many more. Coverage depth varies by state based on available licensing data.

For homeowners

Search by trade and zip code to find licensed contractors near you. Compare star ratings, review counts, and contact info. Save favorites. Use the quote request form to contact a contractor directly — no middlemen, no upsells.

For contractors

Your listing is free. Claim your profile to update your contact info, add a description, and make it easier for homeowners to find you.

Paid subscribers ($25/month) get weekly local search ranking reports — 225 grid points around their business location for each trade keyword, updated every Sunday. See exactly where you rank and where competitors outrank you.
