4 hours to dry a load. I figured no one had ever had the ducts cleaned or evaluated at this house since it was built in 91, so called Matias. He was very prompt and gave me a quick estimate which was very fair. When he came to do the work he gave me a heads up on timing and finished the job quickly. Dryer works great and now I will use them to clean all the hvac ducts in the house. Highly recommend. Steve G. Morgan Hill, CA Silicon Valley Air Experts did a great job. I contacted them yesterday & Matias responded & arrived within 30 minutes to clean my dryer vents. They were quick & cleaned up afterwards. The price was reasonable & I'm very satisfied with their service! David L. San Jose, CA Appointment was easy to book. Showed up on time. Vents cleaned and they were super dirty (don't think they've been cleaned before). Matias was courteous and provided different suggestions to help with better cooling and airflow. Will definitely book jobs with them again. Richard C. Saratoga, CA Silicon Valley Air Experts did a great job cleaning our really filthy and musty vents. This was critical as we were just transitioning from the hellish summer weather to the sudden cold of autumn and winter. Matias was great at explaining the process, getting us a quick and competitive quote for the job, and coordinating things with the crew. I recommend SVAE as they do a great job and don't cost a fortune to get your house "breathing properly!" Neda F. San Jose, CA Recently moved into a new home and once the new dryer was delivered, we got an error message that the vents were blocked. I called a few different vent specialists and was quotes for weeks out, but thankfully Silicon Valley Air Experts was able to come in the same day to check it out. Really appreciate the time and effort spent resolving the issue for us and getting us to finally be able to do laundry (safely!). I highly recommend calling Silicon Valley Air Experts for your vent clearing needs! Mil M. San Jose, CA Thank you so much to Matias Ferreira for adhering to my time crunch and cleaning my dryer vent. I truly appreciate your promptness, professionalism and expertise. I will be forwarding your contact information to my realtor as well as friends and family. Anton A. San Jose, CA Matias and his team did a great and thorough job with our air ducts and dryer vent. Friendly and very responsive. Diane H. San Jose, CA Our dryer was taking a few runs to get our clothes dried. So we decided to get it cleaned professionally. With five quotes requested through Yelp, Matias responded quickly and professionally. We scheduled an appointment and he arrived on t...

Contractor and licensing FAQs

  • How do I verify a contractor is licensed?

Start by asking the contractor directly for their license number and the issuing authority. Licensing is trade-specific: plumbers and HVAC mechanics are typically licensed through your state's plumbing and mechanical systems licensing board; electrical contractors are licensed through your state's electrical licensing authority; general construction contractors register with your state licensing board. You can look up license status online through your state's professional licensing bureau online or through your state's contractor registration database. Before any work begins, also ask for a current certificate of general liability insurance and workers' compensation coverage. Confirm the coverage limits are adequate for your project—at minimum $1 million in general liability. EdgeLocal profiles include ratings and direct contact info, but license verification must be confirmed directly with the contractor and the relevant state agency.

  • Should I get multiple quotes from contractors?

Yes—always get at least two or three quotes before hiring any contractor for significant work. Multiple quotes let you compare price, scope, materials, and timeline, and help you spot outliers: a quote significantly lower than others may indicate missing scope or cut corners, while a much higher quote may not be justified. When collecting quotes, give each contractor a clear description of the project so you can make accurate comparisons. Ask each to break out labor and materials separately when possible, and confirm what's included: demolition, permits, materials, cleanup, and warranty. Ask for estimated start dates and project duration as well. Use EdgeLocal to quickly find several rated contractors in your area so you can start the quote process without extensive additional research.
