  • How do I verify a contractor is licensed?

    Start by asking the contractor directly for their license number and the issuing authority. Before any work begins, also ask for a current certificate of general liability insurance and workers' compensation coverage. Confirm the coverage limits are adequate for your project—at minimum $1 million in general liability.
